Location: Kilmacolm, Inverclyde
Architect: Technique Studio
Project type: Bespoke Residential Home
Awards: RIAS Awards – shortlisted
This architectural interior photography project documents “Pond House,” a bespoke residential home and independent artist’s studio designed by Architects Technique Studio and carefully concealed within an extraordinary mature garden setting. The architecture is defined by a sense of discovery, with the building forming the boundary to a secluded garden while opening dramatically into a bright, top-lit gallery space. The photography focuses on natural light, spatial progression and the relationship between architecture and landscape, capturing the transition from the solid, stepped exterior wall to the expansive interior volumes that house the client’s art collection. Particular attention was given to framing the panoramic views and the seamless connection between the open-plan living spaces, outdoor terraces and private courtyard.
