Scone Palace | Historic House

Location: Scone Palce, Perth
Client: The Countess of Mansfield
Project type: Category A-listed Historic House

Photographing Scone Palace provided an opportunity to document one of Scotland’s most historic Category A-listed estates. The project focused on capturing the architectural harmony of the Gothic Revival estate, balancing its imposing red sandstone facade against the expansive green Perthshire grounds.

Elevated exterior compositions emphasise the castle’s castellated battlements and symmetrical lawns, while the interior documentation highlights the opulent detail of the State Rooms. From the vaulted plasterwork of the Drawing Room to the sweeping expanse of the Long Gallery, the photography combines natural ambient light with careful framing to showcase the intricate porcelain, historic portraiture, and rich period furnishings throughout the palace.
