Your photographs are supplied as 300dpi uncompressed JPG files, which will be approximately A3 print size depending on crop. If you would like the photographs supplied larger, please let us know your requirements before the photography post-production work. We will also supply you with web-optimised images at 1920px by 1080px. If you would like them saved out at a different size, please let us know. Once the images are finished, you will receive an email with a download link to receive your complete high-resolution images.
What is the ZAC and ZAC photography turnaround time?
Turnaround times depend on the scope of the project. Once we’ve received your photography brief, we’ll provide a clear and accurate delivery estimate. As a guide, images from a full-day shoot are typically edited and delivered within 2–3 working days from the shoot date. If you require a faster turnaround, we’ll always do our best to accommodate this where possible. Expedited delivery is subject to a Fast Track fee. Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll receive a detailed project timeline outlining key stages and delivery dates throughout the process.
Why are twilight photographs more expensive?
We can only supply two sunset/evening images per day. These shots are more demanding to photograph, due to technical lighting setups. In addition, they require over twice the amount of post-production compared to natural-looking images.
How does the weather affect the shoot day?
Light plays a crucial role in creating high-impact architectural and interior photography. For interior shoots, natural light can be enhanced using professional studio lighting, so bright sunshine isn’t essential for achieving strong results. For exterior shoots, however, lighting conditions are more critical. If sunshine is required and the forecast is poor, we can reschedule to a more suitable date up to two days before the shoot. Where needed, we can also carry out sky replacements during post-production to ensure a clean, polished final image.
How does your photography pricing work?
To help us provide an accurate quote, please share the following details via our Contact Form:
Preferred date(s) for the photography shoot
Required delivery date for the final edited images
Approximate number of interior and/or exterior overview shots
Number of detailed specification shots (e.g. finishes, fixtures, fittings)
Location of the shoot
If there’s anything else you feel is relevant to the brief, feel free to include that too.
What photographic equipment do you use?
We both use Nikon Z8 cameras, which are full-frame and 45.7 megapixels. We have a wide selection of lenses and specialist architectural lenses to choose from, depending on the type of shot. We also have specialist studio lighting and lots of equipment to help shape and control light and colour.
Do you use lighting equipment?
Yes… We use professional lighting equipment to create natural, well-balanced images. Our approach is to apply studio lighting subtly, enhancing the existing light within the space rather than overpowering it.
The use of lighting always depends on the conditions and whether it’s needed to achieve the best result. For twilight photography, we introduce carefully positioned lighting to add depth, mood, and atmosphere. We may also use lighting on exterior shoots where appropriate.
My shoot location is situated in the middle of nowhere. Is this a problem?
We primarily work across mainland UK and can travel to any location with suitable transport links for our team and equipment. For projects further afield, we’re able to arrange travel by rail or air as required. We also regularly undertake international assignments and are available to work globally.
Where are your photography services based?
At present, there are two interior & architectural photographers at ZAC and ZAC based in both Southern England and Scotland. We split our time between these two destinations with an Edinburgh interior photographer and a London interior photographer. As we both work separately and together, we find these locations to be very beneficial for attending photo shoots across the UK.
